Excel Sound's superb Hana ML features Alnico magnets and a MicroLine stylus tip profile. This is a low impedance, Low-Output Moving Coil (LOMC), with threaded bolt holes. It requires a high-gain "MC" preamp - or, a step-up transformer combined with a low-gain "MM" phono section. Recommended load resistance 100 Ohms. Made in Japan. Reviewers and users have called it the finest cartridge available at anywhere near its price.

Best ever!

Incredible cartridge, by far the best I've used, and very happy I ordered through stereo untypical. I had been using a Denon 301-mkII and a Denon 103r, and I was happy with both (using a denon dp-1200), but this thing is a few steps above. I upgraded my table to a pioneer dl-70 and I've never ad sound this good. Was great right of of the box, but really opened up over the first 10-20 hours. It was a big investment for me, but I can't imagine ever going back.
